What is ATD-2 used for?

The device is designed for diagnostics of turbocharger actuators. It enables:

• position control of electronic and vacuum actuators
• verification of the full actuator movement range
• monitoring of actuator current consumption
• evaluation of variable geometry mechanism and wastegate valve operation

In practice, it allows rapid detection of sticking mechanisms, excessive mechanical resistance, and electrical faults, increasing repair efficiency and reducing the risk of misdiagnosis.

Supported Actuator Types

ATD-2 is designed to operate with a wide range of actuators used in boost systems, including:

• 12V and 24V electronic actuators
• vacuum actuators equipped with a position sensor
• actuator motors: DC, BLDC, UVW, and stepper motors

Depending on the tested actuator model, the device enables both direct motor control and communication via the following protocols: CAN, LIN, PWM, SENT, and UART.
